Current Breeding List 2015

Genetics that I am currently working with, seeking more landraces, top tier varieties, and short flower times:

Seed Runs On New African Sativa Genetics From "Seeds of Africa" and "World of Seeds"- smoke reports to follow

• Malawi Gold - one of the fastest finishing varieties of this top tier, legendary variety of
  
  African landrace sativa. High is extremely psychoactive and yield is very high.
• Swazi Gold - buzzy and productive high. Some phenos finish in 8 weeks.
• Zimbabwe - giggly intense high
• Mozambica - psychoactive, turquoise buds
• Durban Magic - the unskunked original durban
• Pondo Mystic - clear, productive high
• Coffee Gold - relaxing high
• Brazil Amazonia - sativa experience ending in sedation - 25% indica
• Note that I got a couple other packs from World of Seeds - Quazulu and Kilaminjaro. I even got two packs of Quazulu. Exactly zero of all 30 seeds even germinated. I would not purchase something from them again.

Clear and Productive Highs

• Heart Attack F1- Holy Diver X Giesle - Holy diver is "up" and cerebral when harvested early. Giesle is physically active when harvested early (and it finishes in 49 days). Make a list of things to do before you smoke, because your head is not clear enough to evaluate complex alternatives. Don't sit down.
• Holy Diver F3- This one is my favorite. Clear, cerebral, up, happy, and trippy. I have been selecting for hard nugs and a faster finishing flowers. 
• Holy Herrer F1- Jack Herrer X Holy Diver - Jack is the commercial variety of a "clear, productive" high. Finishes faster. 
• Holy XJ13 F1- XJ13 X Holy Diver
• Malawi Dream F1- Malawi Gold X Blue Dream - Two trippy classics in this F1 cross should yield massive, goopy buds with big flavors and intense highs.
• Malawi Mozambica F1- Malawi Gold X Mozambica -Two trippy landrace sativas in this F1 cross. Mozambica has a turquoise tinge to the buds that may carry over.
• Malawi White Rhino - Malawi Gold X Black Berry White Rhino
• Holy Hindu - 45 Day Hindu Kush X (Harlequin X Heart Attack) - These seeds are huge, plants should finish very quickly, around 7 weeks.

High CBD, Low THC F1 Hybrid- only a few seeds produced

• Harlequin (1% THC, 12% CBD) x Charlotte's Web (.3% THC, 17% CBD)

I've got a bunch of crosses from a big, mean Swazi Gold male that I let go crazy in the greenhouse, huge seeds look like they are going to explode like a grenade, all F1 Hybrids

Hybrid Vigor, Illustrated Side-By-Side Grows

Hybrid vigor:

"The increased vigor or general health, resistance to disease, and other superior qualities that are often manifested in hybrid organisms, especially plants and animals."

For marijuana, this means the first cross (F1) of dissimilar strains results in approximately 25% more vitality. This is illustrated clearly in the picture below. On top, you find a cross of Holy Diver x Harlequin F1. Below is a cross that has already seen the Holy Diver genetics from the previous year (BX1). Just in the germination rate alone, you can see the difference (it is the cold season here, so germination rates can be low). But also, look at the size difference. These seeds were planted on the same day. This is a great reason why you should use F1 crosses for increased yeilds.

We selected our new logo for multiple reasons. Our name is a bad pun, and we wanted that to reflect in the design of our logo. The dragon eating its tail has historical meaning to alchemists. It is named Ouroboros and it represents perfection or infinity.

This Year's Harvest the Best Ever!

 Not bad for a single Super Mexican plant (my smallest and earliest to finish)

This Purple Skunk recieved too much nitrogen during budding and began thinning and foxtailing. Being next to significantly longer flowering time sativas has its dangers. The sativas want nitrogen much later into flowering than many modern strains.

 This 250 square foot greenhouse is 10 feet high on the left side and was so very packed with plant life that taking good pictures of most of the plants was impossible. Here is the canopy that blocked out the sun. You could sit under them all day long and hardly get a tan (I did). Foreground is Purple Skunk. In the midground is a monsterous Holy Diver. Far back almost out of view on the right is a monstrous Purple Diver.

This pheno of Holy Diver finished first and left me with some solid rocks.  I selected this mother for breeding because of these properties, but also popped a few seeds of the giant pictured earlier for breeding.

This pheno of Holy Diver was rejected. It may look fat, but the buds were the most airy of all my plants this year.

I popped this little Panama Red clone while it was small to make some feminized seeds for personal use -growing out next year. Note that hormones are localized in plants. This means that I can force a single branch on a female plant to produce male flowers as shown near the bottom in this image.

45 day super skunk

Strains with an extremely distinctive high and extremely 'up', cerebral, enhancement highs.

Also looking for solid short flowering varieties.

Getting Started With Marijuana Seed Crossing

I started growing indoors and I quickly found out that it was not for me. I moved outside into a greenhouse and have had great success growing some monsters.

Talking shop with the people over at Progressive Options (PO) is a hobby of mine and most of my genetics have been sourced through them.  Growing outdoors allows me to play with long flowering period sativas- the types that I enjoy to smoke.

I found Holy Diver through PO and I love the focused, creative, functional, enhancement high it yields when the bud is harvested earlyish. It stands as the cornerstone of my breeding efforts thus far. Working on adapting it to Los Angeles and crossing this strain to other complimentary strains has been my focus.

This cross originated with Snow High. Say what you want about Snow High. He brings around genetics that we would not have access to otherwise. I would love the opportunity to prove and stabilize some of his more distinctive varieties.

I began making my own seeds. Male/female crosses and cross-backs and feminized cross-backs of some classic varieties are are currently in the works. I figured, "Why not share the benefits of all this hard work?".

We are now starting our seed breeding program and making our seeds available to other growers. My first cross that I have enough seeds to prove is Holy Mexican (Purple Mexican X Holy Diver)X(Holy Diver X Giesle).  In the picture here, you can see the seeds that I broadcast onto the prepared planting bed.

You can see the crystals from the buds on the bag. Pictures from the moderately snowy cured mother will be shared when she is done with a 6 week cave-curing.
